“It isn't that they can't see the solution. It is that they can't see the problem.”

G.K. Chesterton

During her career as a nurse Sheila experienced the negative impact of poorly managed organisational change. When new nursing processes were introduced nationally to 'streamline' and personalise patient care, her personal involvement in implementing these changes at ward level put her in a position of being both managed and managing others through a period of strategic change. As a result she came to understand the need for transparency, communication and co-operation between all levels of management before, during and after change occurs, and her interest in how this could be achieved began.

Seeing some of these experiences being repeated in an educational setting encouraged Sheila, in 2004, to co-found Boedromion Ltd, taking on the role of Company Secretary.

In addition to her work with Boedromion Sheila took a sabbatical to complete an Honours Degree in English & American Literature. She supports Boedromion's charity initiatives by raising money for Demelza House Children's Hospice. As an amateur painter she also takes commissions for work, mainly pet portraiture, the proceeds from which go to a small local animal rescue charity.

Sheila also prepares & spins her own wool, some of which is used in craft workshops she runs locally.
